Criminal Case is divided into 6 parts. The first part, the player investigates the murders in the fictional city of Grimsborough, based on New York City. Grimsborough consists of six districts: Industrial Area, Financial Center, Historical Center, University, Maple Heights, and Airport. On the second part, the player is transferred to Pacific Bay, a fictional city based on Los Angeles, California. In Mysteries of the Past, the fourth part, players are required to investigate murders across the fictional city of Concordia in the United States. The fifth part is called Conspiracy, once again you get back to Grimsborough. This time, you come back after the events of the third part. The new version of Grimsborough is made up of ten counties: Fairview, Money Mile, The Greens, Old Town, Maple Heights, Misty Grove, University, Spring Field, Airport, and Newmark. In the six sections, called Travel in Time, players are required to solve murders over many stages in the past including Ancient times, Renaissance to the present.
Gameplay
In Criminal Case, players act as a detective to solve murder cases and pass the script of the game. Players must identify the relevant clues at the crime scene by clicking on the objects on the screen. The faster you finish, the higher your score will be. After the cases, players earn stars, a currency to perform necessary tasks such as examining evidence and interrogating suspects. During the game, players will also encounter complicated cases that may take several hours to complete. The investigation helps players get clues about who the victim is, how they were killed and their relationship with the suspect of the case. At the end of the case, the player must present to all suspects and arrest the suspect who meets the criteria during the investigation. If your decision is correct, the case is over and you can open the next case.

This game is mostly a single-player but it involves some social features. Each crime scene the player can choose a “partner” from his “team” list to participate in each scene investigation and receive a bonus.
