Hearing that the snake crawled into the neighbor’s house to steal chickens, Mr. C. came through the help of the roundup and was bitten on the hand by the snake.
On July 12, representatives of Phu Hoi Commune Farmers Association (Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai province) confirmed that people in the area were bitten by poisonous snakes.
The victim was 65-year-old Tran Van C.
Earlier, on July 10, hearing that a snake crawled into a neighbor’s house to steal chickens, Mr. C. and his son and some people came to the aid of the roundup.
When he saw the snake entering the cave, Mr. C. ran after him with his hands, while taking a sack to cover the snake’s head, he was bitten on the hand by the snake.
Then, seeing Mr. C.’s hand bruised, showing signs of necrosis, his family took him to Cho Ray Hospital (HO CHI MINH CITY) emergency.
At this time the venom spread to the kidneys, leaving Mr. C. critical. In the early hours of July 12, the victim died.
Initially, authorities identified the snake that bit Mr. C. as a cobra.
