In the second quarter, workers in the Southeast had an average income of VND 8.5 million per month, Ho Chi Minh City had the highest income in the region, reaching VND 9.1 (380 USD) million per month.
Information from the General Statistics Office, in the second quarter of 2022, the Southeast region continued to lead the country in terms of average income, reaching VND 8.5 million per month, an increase of 8.5% compared to the previous quarter. In particular, Ho Chi Minh City has a higher average income than the whole Southeast region, reaching VND9.1 million per month (up VND200,000 compared to the previous quarter), followed by Binh Duong, reaching VND8.9 million (up VND300,000 compared to the previous quarter).
In the first quarter, workers in Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong and Dong Nai also had the highest average income in the country, about more than VND8 million per person per month. The Southeast region had an average income of VND8.3 million, an increase of 36.8%, corresponding to an increase of VND2.2 million (90 USD) compared to the previous quarter. In Ho Chi Minh City, the average income of employees is 8.9 million VND/person/month (371 USD), Binh Duong is 8.6 million VND/person/month (358 USD), Dong Nai is 8.5 million VND (3.54 USD).
According to the General Statistics Office, in the second quarter, when the Covid-19 epidemic was controlled, production recovered, resulting in the average monthly income of workers in the regions improved markedly. In particular, the North Central and central coast had the highest growth rate, nearly 13% over the same period, reaching about VND 5.8 million ( 241 USD). Da Nang, Khanh Hoa and Thua Thien Hue reached VND 7.3 million ( 304 USD); VND 6.2 million ( 258 USD) and VND 5.7 million (237 USD), up from 9.7 (404 USD) to 15.8%.
In the second quarter, the average monthly income of employees nationwide was VND 6.6 million, an increase of VND 206,000 compared to the previous quarter and an increase of VND 542,000 compared to the same period last year.
The average monthly income of male workers is 1.9 million VND higher than that of females, 1.34 times higher (7.5 million VND compared to 5.6 million VND). The average income of workers in urban areas is 1.38 times higher than in rural areas (VND 8.0 million ( 334 USD) compared to VND 5.8 million (241 USD) ).
Compared to the same period in 2021, the average income of employees in the second quarter of this year had a decent growth rate, up 8.9%, corresponding to an increase of about VND 542,000, the average income of employees increased by 19.7%, corresponding to an increase of nearly VND 1.1 million.
Compared to the same period in 2021, the average monthly income of workers working in the industrial and construction sectors was VND 7.5 million, an increase of 11.5%, an increase of about VND 774,000, respectively; Workers working in the service industry had an average income of VND 7.8 million, an increase of 8.7%, an increase of about VND 623,000, respectively. Workers in the agriculture, forestry and fishery sectors had an average income of VND3.8 million, an increase of 3.6%, an increase of about VND 132,000, respectively.
The average monthly income of salaried workers in the second quarter was VND 7.5 million, an increase of about VND 178,000 compared to the previous quarter and an increase of VND 707,000 over the same period in 2021. Male workers have an average income 1.13 times higher than the average income of female workers (VND 7.9 million vs. VND 7.0 million). Workers working in urban areas have an average income of VND 8.4 million, 1.24 times higher than the average income of workers in rural areas (VND 6.8 million – 284 USD).
