Dinh Van Tuan, 49, was arrested after beating Cao Son Coal Company to death and hiding for 30 years.
On July 4, quang Ninh provincial police said they had arrested Tuan on July 1 in Dak R’Lak district, Dak Nong province. Tuan is wanted on murder charges.
According to the investigating agency, on March 29, 1992, in Cam Son ward, Cam Pha town (now Cam Pha city), Tuan’s group consisting of Doan Van Tho and Nguyen Tien Thanh were eating breakfast and drinking wine when they saw Mr. Bui Van Điển, security guard of Cao Son coal mine, cycling on the road so he stopped the car, Fight revenge. Earlier, he was beaten by Mr. Điển for stealing coal.
Tuan and Tho used wooden tapers to attack Mr. Điển. When someone came to dissuade them, the group left the scene.
He was taken to the emergency room but did not survive. Tuan fled to China and returned to Vietnam to hide in the southern provinces.
To avoid detection in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, Tuan changed his name to Dung, misrepresenting his parents’ names and addresses according to household registration to prove his new identity card. After that, Tuan married and moved to Dak Nong province.
The investigating police agency called on Doan Van Tho to turn himself in.
