Initially determined, the subject carrying AK guns to rob gold at Dong Ba market (Hue city) was a police officer working at Binh Dien prison (Huong Tra town, Thua Thien Hue).
This information was reported by the Police of Thua Thien Hue province on August 1 at an unscheduled commendation of individuals and collectives with outstanding achievements in crime prevention and fighting related to the case of using guns to rob gold shops in Dong Ba market area.
At the commendation meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong – Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee, highly appreciated the achievements of the forces involved in solving the case. This is considered a very serious case, but by professional measures, in a short time, the subject has been arrested, ensuring the safety of the people and the crime-breaking force.
This shows the willingness, professionalism, brave fighting, intrigue in crime prevention, minimizing the damage to people and property. Creating trust among the masses of the people, expressing the spirit of “For the country forgets itself, for the people to serve”.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong decided to give unscheduled rewards to 4 collectives and 9 individuals who have had achievements in preventing and combating crimes related to the case.
According to the authorities, the subject Ngo Van Quoc (SN 1984, residing in Huong Thuy town, Thua Thien Hue) was an officer at Binh Dien prison. Ngo Van Quoc showed abnormal psychological signs that led to out-of-control behavior. The incident remains under investigation for clarification.
As Dan Tri reported, at about 13h on July 31, suspect Ngo Van Quoc with an AK gun arrived at the gold trading area at the main gate of Dong Ba market (Tran Hung Dao street, Dong Ba ward, Hue city), repeatedly opened fire on thi uy to steal gold and then knocked it out onto the street.
Gold splashed, caught at the top of the tree. Many residents despite the danger rushed to pick up gold causing chaos.
At 14h on the same day, the police force managed to persuade the Nation to surrender.
